Hello! I would love to help you on your musical journey whether it be learning at a professional conservatoire level or as a beginner. All I ask from you is your enthusiasm, discipline and a passion for music. I hope to inspire love and appreciation for all kinds of music and play with amazing technique.
Drawing upon my experience as an international concert pianist, I endeavour to give you the highest quality of teaching. I was a tutor at Yorkshire Young Musicians, a highly esteemed and selective institution coaching talented musicians. Interest in teaching was first ignited at the Royal Northern College of Music where I studied keyboard pedagogy and also was a coach for junior RNCM students.
As a pianist I have performed concertos, solo recitals, and chamber music across the UK, Europe and the USA in venues such as Harris Hall (Colorado, USA), Wigmore Hall, and Wales Millennium Centre. I have had the great privilege of working with some of the finest artists during my lifetime and I wish to pass this exciting knowledge and craft to young musicians. I was sponsored by the Polonsky Foundation to perform at one of the world’s top classical music festivals in the USA, the Aspen Summer Music Festival, where, in addition to a busy performing and learning schedule, I was employed to teach piano to Junior Students.
As a teacher, I teach students of all ages and abilities, from beginners to conservatory and diploma levels. I am continuously striving for the highest of standards, both artistically and technically, just as I do with my own practice. I enjoy incorporating a well- rounded approach to music through arts, composition, history, and human experiences in order for the student to be continually engaged and have a holistic understanding of why they are practising. This in turn gives a stronger motivation to instilling discipline, which is an essential part of improving to reach their potential.
I am DBS checked and have a thorough understanding of child safeguarding policies.
I am a creative individual and enjoy interacting with others. I endeavour to guide pupils in the best way possible in order to reach a standard of playing beyond what they might have imagined. Every individual should have the opportunity to be nurtured musically, whatever they end up doing in their futures. The musical journey I have taken has been a great privilege and that is something I want to portray to all my students whatever their age or background.
Hope to see you soon!
